CLUB3D announces DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapters
AMD has promised that their Fiji-based GPUs do not need HDMI 2.0 because sooner or later DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapters will be made. It took few months, which is unforunate. The good news however are that Crimson drivers and CLUB3D finally give us the opportunity to test HDMI 2.0 on those cards.
Most importantly, those adapters support 60 Hz 4K content (3840 x 2160), which without a doubt is a big step forward.
If you happen to own HDMI 2.0-only display, let it be a monitor or TV, now you can enjoy full 4K experience at 60 Hz without Maxwell GPUs.
It would be nice if those adapters were bundled with Fiji cards, but we still don’t know how much will they cost.
